Another way to experience the incredible power of the Zambezi River below the Victoria Falls is to paddle the rapids with seasoned white water kayakers. Before setting off for the activity, clients will be taken down the rapids to be issued with Paddles, lifejackets, helmets and wetsuits or spray jackets which will be used in the colder months. This will be followed by a comprehensive safety briefing and a practice session prior the trip commences. An experienced white water kayaker will steer the boat through the rapids with you adding your support. The trip is run in conjunction with a rafting trip for added safety.

Each kayak is piloted by an experienced white water kayaker who will steer the boat through the rapids and Eskimo roll should there be a upturn and no previous experience is needed. But a comprehensive safety talk and practice session will be done at the bottom of the gorge before the days kayaking. A reasonable level of fitness is required to paddle the approximate 25kms and negotiate the 750-foot climb at the end of the day.

Best time for the activity: The activity is done year round depending on the water levels and a one day kayaking trip is more convenient. Low Water Run Approximately July to January (stopping in between if river too high) High Water Run Approximately January to June.Besides,There is also a half day kayaking between 4 to eleven rapids
